Or maybe you're saying I use an AA# just to keep things organized on their website, but substitute the other airline's before I fly? I might be willing to risk that, although as we know making such changes has its own headaches.
Yes, exactly. My suggestion was just as a way to find and manage your trips. But, as I noted, it's problematic when another airline's frequent-flyer number is assgned, as neither the website nor the app will show them by default, although the iPhone app at least will retain a manually-added PNR for some time.
