Is this a London specific, or Senator and Business lounges are now systemwide the same?
And on a Thursday afternoon both lounges completly full, almost every table, seat taken

You sum up the LH lounges at LHR perfectly. The SEN lounge is a huge downgrade on what it was and not differentiated in any way from the business lounge. Maybe it's just a money saving exercise or maybe it's something to do with the majority of users flying A3, TP, LO, TK and SK (at least at the moment) rather than LH group airlines these days and LH don't see a need to offer *Gs anything better.
As SK don't provide lounges at outstations no doubt their access will cease once they move to SkyTeam.
