My rate was GBP 81, so I guess I can't complain too much at that rate, but I just thought the hotel seemed tired and worn down. Everything in the room worked, but it seems very much in need of a refurbishment. Breakfast was really not very good. The buffet was out of several items and nobody seemed keen to refresh. It wasn't particularly busy either.
There's no lounge, and past reports of an alcove for Plat+ members or a drink coupon upon check-in seem to be ancient history at this point. The staff were friendly, and the location is pretty central. I wouldn't actively avoid this hotel, but all-in-all it was just kind of underwhelming. I generally have good experiences at city center Marriott properties in the UK, and this was by far the worst experience I've had. This hotel felt like what I might get at an old Sheraton or even Courtyard somewhere in suburban USA.
I agree. Haven’t stayed there for about 6 years but found it underwhelming. Really should boast a lounge, fridges in room etc.
