The text message from AA (whom I booked through) says "Due to ATC restrictions", but the email from BA says "a technical issue"!
The following email inviting us to call and rebook from BA says "Due to a technical issue with the aircraft and the late arrival of this aircraft".
Aircraft looked to have been an A350 that remained on the ground for the last three days at LHR.
Rebooking options were scarce when I looked - Y2 to ORD for example and whilst many seats to JFK,BOS,PHL few if any to AUS.
