Essentially, I was on BA8727 and we were diverted to STN due to weather, which is fine and I understand compensation wouldn't be due. However we had left GLA over 40 mins late due to a compounding delay starting with BA8451. Had we left on time we should have been able to land at LCY, as the airport appeared to be operating normally around our booked arrival time with other flights arriving normally.

If the cause of the original delay is found to be something within BA's control, am I right in saying that there is a chance that UK261 compensation would be due? To be honest the whole day was quite frustrating, we were given no indication as to what to do about onward travel arrangements once we arrived in STN. Frustratingly the trains were blocked also so it took a long time to get down to London!

There is a single minute delay for a PRM who took longer to board than expected, then a mysterious 32 minute delay that is listed as Flight Crew attributed. This particular code appears when we don’t respond to a request to account for delay minutes post doors closed with an actual cause and minutes attributed. In short sectors flying the aircraft is far more important and it isn’t expected that we make time to reply. So that 32 minutes is a mystery. I haven’t operated in and out of LCY, merely enjoyed the ride, but on stormy days with slot delays and the like, there can be a delay in being allowed to start and manoeuvre on the very limited taxi way real estate, so I’d imagine this was the likely reason, but I have zero idea. A CEDR claim may elicit more information from BA.
