For a Plat, Breakfast was one of the checkin options (although only when prompted, alternatives were F&B credit or points which were the two options initially offered to me). Standard buffet was included: cereals, hot items, cheese and cold cuts, pastries. Decent range and a pleasant and spacious breakfast room. Regular coffee was reported as horrible (I'm a tea drinker) and barista coffees (espresso, flat white etc) were charged, and there were some more bespoke options e.g, Benedict that could be ordered and were also surcharged.
Overall I'd say it was an average breakfast, the ingredient quality wasn't terrific but I've had worse (e.g. at the AC Salford Quays which seems to have downgraded to the cheapest possible produce). I'm planning to stay at the AC Glasgow again later this month and I'll take breakfast again as it's better value than the other options.
Can't speak to the Moxy or Courtyard, I'm afraid. I would say that the breakfast at the Glasgow Marriott was significantly better, although it's less well-located and a much older property. There's a major refurb going on at the Marriott at the moment and I'm interested to see how that turns out after the revamp. As I'm sure you're aware, the properties at the SEC are not very convenient for the City Centre, but depending on the reason for your stay that may be unimportant
