Acela is also not significantly faster in travel time than non-Acela trains due to poor infrastructure.
If its strict time on travel, the non-stop from BOS will alway be the answer. OP was looking at options for reasons other than TOT.
I can get so much more done on a train than a commute to, security, wait time, flight time of air travel. Ive actually interviewed candidates on a shared train ride, and then flown them home. There are some interesting things you learn about people watching them travel
