Stayed here even though I didn't originally plan for it. Originally booked 1 night at the Sheraton Pretoria Hotel but the hotel lost power and wouldn't honor our reservation but was able to contact this hotel as their sister property and honor the same booking rate we had. Check-in was smooth although there wasn't much of an upgrade opportunity with twin beds so we were placed on a low floor without a great view. Most of the upgraded rooms are with a king bed only although the check-in agent didn't offer a choice of rooms even on different floors and we didn't really ask.

Chose the breakfast option which is free for Marriott platinum and above which was a great choice. Far and away one of the best breakfast options which I wasn't expecting and outclasses far more expensive hotels. Highlights include the croissant, lox, avocado, ribeye steak, variety of fruit options. Ate probably 2-3 decent sized ribeyes although they served it in strips but it was meaty, tender, and juicy.

Did ask for a late checkout of 2pm which was denied due to "availability" even when speaking with the manager at the front desk who didn't understand that the late checkout is GUARANTEED (not based on availability) for Marriott platinum members and above. Negotiated to 12:30pm which ended up being enough for our needs but a minor negative point.

Self parking our car was easy enough with a large garage downstairs although some tight turns. Felt quite safe with a high amount of pedestrian traffic nearby from the stadium and games.

Location is super convenient to buy snacks/groceries which is just a 1 minute walk to Checkers. Lots of food options from the mini mall the hotel is connected to.
