I love how creative the crew can be with excuses at times, but for me it backfires mostly and just pisses me off - would rather them be upfront and honest.

“We cannot serve food due to somebody with an allergy” = “We didnt get the catering to deliver the food”

”We cannot serve alcohol due to local law” = “We didnt get the tax paid alcohol loaded”.
