Got it. Experience might be a poor choice of word. Was trying to decide what fare to buy and it looked like the fare with extras like checked baggage and seat selection was a better deal than the flexible fare given i coukdnt see using a credit. I'm not a low cost carrier flier but Veuling is either the only choice or the schedule for other carriers was not good so just trying to gain info. Thanks
If you have checked luggage, then you definitely need to pay for it in advance. But don't expect to buy checked luggage and then change your mind to bring a carry-on - that's a different charge.
For seat selection, it's not really worth it if you are going to pre-select the cheap seats at the back. You'd be allocated those anyhow and VY won't split families up - at worst you'd be across the aisle from each other. For longer flights, it is certainly worthwhile to pay for the seats with extra legroom...
Don't book until you are sure of your dates... "Flexible" doesn't mean that you can book a cheap flight then change to an expensive flight "for free", it just means you pay the fare difference and/or end up with a credit that IIRC you can only apply to one flight (not multiple).
