Has anyone tried this trick on an Alaska flight? My wife and I both have AS status, but none on BA (but we have Avios expiring). Would love to use up the Avios, book our Alaska flight, and then move up to premium seating (and possibly first class upgrade) based on our Alaska status. Thanks for any insights.
