November 2023

As has been the norm since the pandemic, hot towels only make an appearance once per flight if you're lucky, with a packaged wipe provided as part of the pre-departure service.

After takeoff, a bar service with warm nuts kicked off lunch.

The salmon amuse bouche was decent, and as always on QR the table setting was first class in standard.

My chosen starter of surf and turf of poached lobster and veal fillet was fine, but not particularly to my taste.

The Gulf style prawn biryani was nicely flavoured, but was not served hot enough.

For dessert, the passion fruit panna cotta was excellent and stunningly presented. The black plates QR use for their desserts really showcase the food brilliantly, although do tend to show fingerprints which isn't the most appetising addition to a plate.

The bar on this A380 was well stocked and had great service.

Before landing I requested another of the lunch main courses, the rigatoni pasta with lovage pesto and truffles. This was also on the tepid side of the temperature scale.

Chocolates were offered prior to descent.

The wine list was the same as the previous sector. QR's signature (and sugary) lime and mint before takeoff started this Qsuite flight to ICN, with an iced coffee and warm nuts served once airborne.

Before getting some rest, I enjoyed the selection of vegetable and prawn dim sum, followed by the superb black sesame cheesecake with crème Anglaise - I challenge you to find a better presented dessert in the air.

Breakfast was the main meal service on this flight. I started with the seasonal fresh fruits which were a little basic - I've certainly had nicer looking fruit plates on QR previously and since.

The home-made strawberry yogurt with toasted pistachio granola was better than previous QR yogurt dishes I've tried.

For my breakfast main course, the hand-rolled omelette with tomato cream was great, and fabulously presented.

These were two solid QR flights, although the crew on the first sector could've heated my main courses for longer or served them quicker to avoid the tepidness which ended up being presented.
