Asia-Pacific airlines saw an 45.4% increase in January 2024 traffic compared to January 2023, continuing the region's rapid recovery. Capacity climbed 48.1% and the load factor fell by 1.5 percentage points to 82.6%
Cathay group load factor for February was over 86% (Cathay 82.5 and HK express 93%) Interestingly SIA groups loading was almost exactly the same as CX group at 86.3%
It takes time re-establish traffic on some routes that were closed for almost 3 years while on others traffic surges back.
