Friday 29 March 2024 - Good Friday

BA cancellations from LHR today:

BA1396 MAN
BA790 GOT
BA344 NCE
BA392 BRU

I think the above are WEAN but I'll correct this post later today. Not WEAN. 336 departures from LHR today.

From the ATC report for this morning, we've got the chatty one on duty, moderate Regulation expected for much of today but so far timekeeping is doing ok. But it's 10:00 to 17:00 which is the windy patch.

Landing RWY: 27R
Airborne holding (mins): 10
Departure RWY: 27L
TSAT delay average (mins): 0

Network: Heathrow arrival reg 40/60 0600-2140 due strong winds and CB activity within the LTMA, rate is working nicely. Average delays around 18 minutes.

Weather: A cloudy morning, with showery bursts of rain continuing from the overnight period, some of which could be heavy. There is a Medium risk of CB from 07Z in the south of the LTMA. Into the mid-morning, the showers will become less organised, but increasingly heavy, with a High risk of CB 10-16Z, lowering to Medium and then ceasing by 18Z. From there, a clear and dry evening. Moderate to fresh SSW'ly winds with a low risk of gusting 25 KT, will increase to fresh to strong, gusting 27-32 KT especially in and around any showers. From 19Z, easing gentle to moderate.
Strong Wind Warning valid 1000-1700. Currently gusting 27KT sporadically.
