The Thompson is available for $130 a night pre-tax with a third night free Prive promo, and the PH is more than double that at $290 a night. Is it a no-brainer to try the Thompson? I've stayed at the PH before and enjoyed it, and I do prefer its location over the Thompson's. I'm conscious of budget and value, but the PH would not break the bank if folks think it is that much better than the Thompson.
Honestly it's worth staying at the Thompson just to be able to walk to/from the Nats game. Save the PH for another time when you have a reason to stay in West End. You'll spend more time and money on ubers/etc from PH than Thompson on this trip too.
