both flights were cancelled. Can somebody check the reason for this? If it was ATC or weather conditions, is this acceptable for not paying compensation as other flight were still operating? Such as KL997 and KL980, BA8457 and BA4456. All flights between LCY and AMS/RTM.

The ATC reason is solid because BA was asked to cut a certain proportion of their flights by the ATC authorities. Therefore, something has to give, even if the airport is ‘open’. The fact that a different flight ran makes no difference.
