Looking at October and November 2024, the big Studios are $420 per night (Marriott Bonvoy member rate) for most nights. Estimated Government Taxes and Fees for $420 rooms are $75.44, bringing the total to 495.44. Some nights are only $408 per night. So far, staying with Marriott Bonvoy points is not an option. "Check-in at 4pm, check-out at 10am" is a brand standard at Marriott Vacation Club, where most rooms are large condos (1BR, 2BR, and 3BR) that take a long time to clean.

I would rather stay in a 548sqft "
Studio, 1 King, Sofa bed" (with a washer/dryer and partial kitchen) at Marriott Vacation Club Waikiki than in a 328sqft "1 King Bed, Guest Room" nearby at The Laylow, Autograph Collection, even though The Laylow costs somewhat less that time of year and provides a specific breakfast or a breakfast credit to Platinum Elite members and above (+1 guest in the same room).

I have never seen a destination fee or resort fee at a Marriott Vacation Club, even at MVC properties that are genuinely resorts. Marriott Vacation Club, Waikiki is not a resort.
