Visiting DC for three nights this summer for a mix of pleasure (including but not limited to a Nats game) and business (in Alexandria). The Thompson is available for $130 a night pre-tax with a third night free Prive promo, and the PH is more than double that at $290 a night. Is it a no-brainer to try the Thompson? I've stayed at the PH before and enjoyed it, and I do prefer its location over the Thompson's. I'm conscious of budget and value, but the PH would not break the bank if folks think it is that much better than the Thompson.
