I know this is a very old thread, but wanted to ask you all- if the companion's ticket was previously purchased using RR miles before the CP was earned, I'm presuming the companion can still be added once CP earned, and if successful, can cancel that previously purchased ticket and get the RR miles would be refunded back to their account?

Wondering- does a fare have to be available in the same ticket category as the CP holder? Ex. if theirs is a WGA fare, but there are no WGA fares left when holder is trying to add the companion, does the system prevent holder from adding companion stating something like - cannot be added because they are sold out? Or does the SW choose the next available fare and offer that?

Thank you in advance for your help!
