Has this Hertz issue with entering 18-20 additional drivers been fixed yet (quoted report was from 2019 or earlier)? I'm taking my 18yo son on some college visits in a couple weeks and he will need to be able to share the longer-distance driving of the one-way rental. I'd rather not go through the steps of creating him a Gold account and reserving in his name (he does have a card on our MP Explorer card that has rental coverage) if I don't have to. The benefit is written pretty clearly -- will they figure it out at the counter/gate (manually noting the authorized driver if necessary), or will we have to rebook the whole thing in his name?
