Just sat aboard BA638 LHR-ATH, which pushed back and then returned to stand 10 mins later. The pilot announced a technical fault and the engineers were on board quickly - to pronounce that the”main flight system (of three) that tells us our speed, height etc is broken and can’t be reset….”

Never had a full computer-says-no situation before! This plane is a 4 year old A320 so is it more poor BA maintenance?

Anyway, they have blithely told us we now have to change aircraft. Call me an old BA cynic but I foresee a) sitting on here for 2 more hours before they tell us there is no spare plane or b) sitting on here for 3 hours, finally transferring to a new plane and being told when we reach altitude that there’s no catering because of the late change:
