Look at the details of the travel insurance benefits provided by each card.
Will do. Especially need to review how the various policies handle miles and points bookings since my declared goal for the foreseeable future is to burn, burn, burn miles, especially for more risk prone overseas long haul trips.
But I am not sure it will be a huge factor for me. While I have been aware of people here preferring Chase (CSR) travel insurance benefits over Amex Plat, I have not paid much attention to it simply because in all my years of holding the CSR and the Plat I have never made a single claim. And yes, I realize that all it takes is likely a single claim to earn back the $250 extra for the CSR.
I think a number of restaurants will see a massive drop in business come July 1. And Collinson / PP as well.

I am mostly traveling around the west coast and from here internationally. The Chase lounges will not be a factor for me, I think.
My CSR renews in September (October?) so at least I will get most of a year of PP benefits out of the card fee. It’s interesting how a benefit like this can be axed in the middle of a cardmember year. I guess Chase would call it a negligible benefit while for many members it is a significant feature of the card.
