Rumour has it that when Airbus were testing the A320 they procured the biggest, most powerful radar that THALES could produce and sat it next to the cockpit and pressed 'stun'.
Nothing happened.
Then again, it's a French radar, so it probably didn't work.
Seriously though, I've spoken to a couple of Gulf Air Captains who hear the "dee-diddy-dee" in their headsets as 100+ mobiles lock on to the Batelco transmitter on the approach to Bahrain. I think the concern is that they may miss vital instructions when this audio extravaganza is being played into their ears?
