Being Gold I have been the recipient of many complimentary upgrades to Premium this quarter, in particular the half of it beginning with February 1. Rarely has so much free cholcolate been bestowed upon me, made possible in no small part by the dedicated higher-up elites intent to preserve their status last month by way of the welcome offer of double elite qualifying miles.

But all good things come to an end, and I was seated in First in my most recent flight, only to wait for one of the pilots to use the bathroom and do some chit-chat with the flight attendant, so that I could embark upon my stroll down the pleasantly almost endless aisle, taking me back to days long gone.

When I wasn’t upgraded to Premium by the system, picking the seat myself at T-72 was generally available. But now, like the last flight, I got upgraded to First, and I am reminded that just like I don’t stay in Gold for long, the same to applies to my sense of Premium. One day there, the next day not.
