I can say with 100% certainty I will spend much less on my Delta card and probably fly Delta less. I fully realize I don't matter in the slightest but if a lot of others do the same it begins to matter
That's the purpose of forums to discuss issues. It's up to Delta what they want to do about it. Maybe they like it this way and don't want to do anything.
As already mentioned, the people on FT are mostly outliers. I would not make much from a poll of FTers and assume they are somehow typical (I suspect there are not really all that many DL pax with many 100Ks of rollover MQMs in the general populace). DL only added status extension option (and improved MQM to MQD ratio and improved MM status) after initial huge negative blow-back to the program changes. So, yes, they were almost certainly aware of the fact they were trading off short-term revenue in a number of cases in exchange for longer term loyalty when they updated their MQM conversion offerings. Would you have preferred they not have made the new offerings so generous? My guess is that its highly unlikely they will make further tweaks during this program year, but may add some additional MQD based CB thresholds next year for the 2026 program status year.
