I suspect you're spot on here. There are probably 100+ people on UA 872 who would be eligible for lounge access. Everytime I fly that route Polaris and Premium Economy are full so that is 84 people right there. The upgrade list always has 30-40, or more, people on it so estimating 125 people is probably safe, could easily be more. Lots of demand for UA 871/872, I think I've been able to use a Plus Points upgrade twice flying to Taiwan and maybe 2-3 times on the return out of ~15 times flying the route.
