The something offered was an 'upgraded room type", but its an outright lie to say there is any meaningful difference between floor 3 and floor 1 here. That is what the problem is -- the lie. And the effect -- Limiting pt redemptions -- harms the value of the overall WOH program for us all.
I was just here a couple of nights ago (booked on points ~7 months ago) and got an "upgrade" to a third floor room for my 10 hour overnight layover. I nearly laughed out loud when the (very friendly) front desk agent told me my rooms were upgraded. Like, why lie to my face like I am going to be getting something more than just an extra second on the elevator ride.
As for breakfast, why are they exempted? Feels completely random. I thought I saw a breakfast room on my way out -- we weren't interested anyways since we were taking breakfast in the OneWorld premium lounges in Terminal 3.
