I guess your credit card has not been charged and someone else was quicker snagging the upgrade. system detected that the seat/upgrade is no longer available and sent you back to regular checkin screen.
in case your card was charged go to the checkin or ticket sales counter at the airport to complain and bring the receipt of the upgrade.
