It really isn't. The rooms were all recently redone and everything is in excellent condition. It's a question of style, not age or wear and tear. Some like the decor, some don't. I personally prefer a more modern look, but the warmth and personalized service at SGS more than make up for it for us.

Give me a choice between, say, W/A with its sleek modern decor and SGS with its much warmer service style, and I will pick SGS every time (and head to W/A for breakfast at least once per stay).
