Can I trust United (on this rebooking)??

So I have a flight booked to Paris in May. I booked this several months ago. I booked Premium economy as its a long flight and my H is very tall and has recently suffered with blood clots. That said, United recently changed the flight time by 20 mins (no problem) and I guess switched planes and in the process moved us from premium to basic economy and we are not even sitting together (which I understand as we were not booked on the same reservation and have different last names). I tried to change the seats myself but the system would not let me. I called customer service and they too had the same problem so what they told me was that in order to fix the seat issue they had to cancel the reservation and rebook the ticket. I recieved an email saying my flight was cancelled but nothing to say it was rebooked. I asked about this and the agent said because it was just a seat change they would not automatically send something indicating a new ticket. But that it would show in my account. So it shows on my app if I go into trips with the new seat number. In my account on the computer if I click on my trips it shows no trips. But if I put in the confirmation number which they said did not change, it does come up. SO my question to all of you is... should I trust that all is ok and just leave things be or should I bother customer service again and ask for something in email or will that make any difference? I don't want to show up for the flight only to have them tell me oh well your ticket was cancelled. Some times when they fool around with making changes to things .. things get messed up. Your thoughts?
