Any idea what drives the change fee? I was just quoted £150 per person to change a flight by one day (no difference in fare) flying CW from LHR to JFK - no changes to the associated car rental. The overall deposit I've paid for 2 people is £250..so one the one hand it looks like it might be cheaper to rebook the whole thing..but when I look up the overall fare it's pricing up a few £100 more than I paid (probably meaning the inbound fare has since gone up).

When I probed about the £150 per person the customer service person said she wasn't sure and went to check the fare rules..then came back saying it might be as high as £300 per person but needed to check. At that point I said I'd call back

Any idea what the right level should be or how BA calculate the change fee?
