Maybe it would help to think of it as having a two-seat row to yourself: you're sitting up in one seat, raise the arm rest between the seats and stretch your legs at slight angle to the right.
I sat in 27J on an earlier flight and felt really cramped, but mostly because the video box was under the seat in front. (It's under the seat to the left if you're in 41G, so that's not a issue.)
If it helps, I think I'd still pick 41G over an aisle seat in rows 10-28, unless it were paramount for me to be off the plane fast.
Good luck with whichever you choose. Betty
I had 41G on a full flight last summer DTW-AMS. I was all excited since it was my first A330 experience and seatguru.com recommended that seat. I boarded and took my seat, really appreciating the extra space to store my backpack and strech my legs. I was tinkering with the AVOD remote when the person in front of me reclined shortly after takeoff. Then my enthusiasm began to wane. The problem was that the video monitor is in the seatback of 40F and not centered in front of 41G, so the viewing angle is such that you have to lean pretty far left to see the image, even after reclining your seat. I'm 6'0" which I guess I'm too tall for that seat.

I could not watch or play any games for the whole trip. Since it was a night flight, it wasn't so bad. But I wouldn't have been happy on at westbound trip. I've not been in a regular non-staggered seat yet so I'm hoping it's better. But, like Betty says, if you're just looking for space and don't need to get off the plane quickly, it's great.
