They seem to have done quite a good job at Newcastle, where the new lounge design separates passengers whose airlines have contracted lounge services (which at Newcastle means BA, AFKL, Emirates, Lufthansa and maybe one or two others) from those who have purchased access on the day and are tanking up on Stella ahead of the 06:30 Jet2 service to Malaga.
A similar approach at Manchester might offer a bit more peace and quiet, but not sure any refurbishment is on the cards.
The separation also exists at BHX, doesn't make a huge differences but the seats are a little less busy, a little less filthy and you are further away from the loud people, which is why BHX still beats MAN.
Finding the shutters down, what a blessing in disguise! Definitely a better breakfast to be had at the Spoons or similar.
