What not a lot of people know is that US fluid ounces are different from Imperial fluid ounces.... 1 US fl.oz. is about 4% bigger than the Imperial fl.oz. This stems from the US gallon being 0.833 Imp gallon, and keeping to the useful convention that there are 8 pints in a gallon then a US pint would be 16.66 Imp fl.oz

Still a very short measure.
