Yep, that is definitely an issue with 1L.
Other issues are:
1) That closet visible in your picture gets used by FA even during the flight. Can be quite distracting.
2) The flat area in front of the seat gets used sometimes as a 'storage' area by FAs, e.g. tablecloths and such.
I like 1L, but it's not without its flaws.
