Back pre-covid I had to figure out what I should get my father, who was turning 95, for his birthday. I figured something we could enjoy right away was in order. So, I got a bottle of LPGS, and another of Grande Dame at Heathrow Duty free for a rather decent price (for those bottles. ). I have to say that I preferred the Grande Dame to the LPGS. HOWEVER, since then there are different vintages going into these wines. A quick look at the websites shows Grande Dame currently being sold at a more recent vintage than LPGS is being sold at. A bit longer on the lees could make a difference in the taste.
