Would you be able to book it a day early and let them know of your late arrival so that your room is ready when you arrive? This only works obviously if you don't plan on showing up around 6pm etc.

I like to take advantage of the 5th night free when I visit Europe and my East Coast flight arrives at 7-8am. My room is ready when I get there instead of having to hope it's available. I message the hotel of my intentions to ensure night audit doesn't cancel my reservation for no shows though.
