Short answer: no. The expiration date on your ecredit is for travel by a certain date. If you book a ticket and cancel it, the expiration date on any credit will be the same as the expiration date you have now.
I booked a ticket with a credit and canceled it, and the resulting credit had the new ticket's expiry date (one year from reissue). However, the new ticket included some new funds.
