1L is always my choice. There's no lavatory in front of you so you won't smell the stink. While the Cabin crew is there but usually they're gone after service and it's all quite. During mid-flight service the cabin crew always ask you first would you like a mid-flight cuisine or drink. It doesn't fit the traditional mole of "front is smelly and noisy". Just flew 1L from SFO -TPE, way better than 3L from TPE-SFO as 1L the length feels longer too (didn't check the actual measurement online).
