Recent stay as a platinum
- Booked cheapest city side room, upgraded to darling harbour view with larger room
- Room ready for 10am checkin, 4pm checkout provided no issues
- bottle of reasonable wine in room - reasonable in that it was from a vineyard and not some references to bushrangers, koalas or kangaroos.
- Breakfast as plat amenity is brilliant - nice spread of hot and cold items, not too busy
- Checkout was very busy - but easily handled in the app, lots of issues with people claiming they had been over charged for the room rate. That said, you know checkout is before 11am for most people, so staff the desk well so you do not have a queue snaking around the lobby, Help people with express and e-checkout.
- If you want to be near ICC then it is great with probably only the sofitel being better placed.
- But it is Darling harbour, so connected to Sydney via a footbridge, which unless you are reasonably familiar with Sydney is not overly obvious - around 10+ mins walk to Town Hall station.
- For location if Sydney is the aim then the Sheraton or Marriott CQ would be better
- You have to really really really like the W brand for this hotel, esp. as it seems to be a price premium over the others.
