Delta broke my Rimowa. What should I do?

I recently flew Delta, where I was forced to gate check my carry-on bag due to space constraints.
They ended up breaking my Rimowa, and the locks are physically broken due to their mishandling.

I received an email from them saying:We invite you to visit your nearest RIMOWA Store at your convenience, or you can contact them to arrange an appointment. Their aim is to find the fastest and best solution for you; they will process most basic repairs on the spot for you. Should an immediate repair not be possible for any reason, RIMOWA will organize the shipment of your suitcase to a client care expert.

It is likely that RIMOWA will provide repairs at no cost to you. However, if you incur expenses for the shipping or repair of your suitcase, please reply to this email with your invoice for further review and consideration.

I don't live super close to a Rimowa store, and this is a big hassle. I expect Delta to make this right, how do I get them to take responsibility and pay for the repairs. I'd rather get a check than deal with the hassle.
