Very typical city hotel lobby with few seating and a bar to the side
Arrived at 5:20pm. My assigned upgrade oceanfront room not ready. Take a while to find me a room which is at best partial ocean view, still an upgrade I guess.
No self parking only free velvet parking due to parking decks are used to store construction materials now. No explanation for the resort fee.
Picked breakfast as elite gift. Supposedly buffet.
Construction can still be seem throughout the hotel. Room hallway carpet is cover with construction dusk at least on 2nd floor
Didn't notice any umbrellas at beach in the evening. Will check again tomorrow. Dawn beach resort signage are on all the signs near the beach, instead of JW.
The causal restaurant has only 2 tables of guests that I can see at dinner time. Don't want to take a chance, so eat off sites.
Gym is good unless you want weight lifting. All new cardio machines.
There is a small coffee shop and a typical resort gift shop open.
If you have any respiratory conditions, I will definitely be carefully about coming here now due to very dusky hallway. I have been coughing since I arrived.
The room is new but already show poor house keeping. Tiles floor has multiple stains and the glass shower wall is already full of water stains that turn it "frosty".
The check in staffs and the valet are wonderful. All trying to help.
I was supposed to stay for 5 nights but cut it short to 2 nights (past cancellation deadline, so can't cancel) after reading the reviews. I agree with all the negative reviews on Google.
This is incredibly disappointing to hear. Wife and I were there when it was the Westin, and enjoyed it.
Hope they figure it out soon, as we really enjoyed St Maarten.
