My flight within South Africa was once canceled by British Ariways the day before departure. I found out the evening before when checking in online. No call, no email, only offer for another flight 1 day later or cancellation possible. Nobody cared that i had a connecting flight to Europe on the same day and i could not postphone the flight 1 day or that i was OW Emerald with BA because of my status with QR.

Another time, I forgot the name of the airline and I was already sitting in the loung (check-in done already and also in South Africa), the flight was first postponed by 1 hour, then by 2, then by 3 and in the end it was 5 hours late. Luckily I had lounge access at the airport through Qatar Platinum. No one was interested in what my other planes looked like at the destination airport. Of coures no reason was given for the delay. Maybe the pilot was drunk.

Sit happens everywhere and it noting that is limited to QR only.

I am also QR Platinum and to this day i have never had a bad experience with QR but the likelihood increases with evey day.
