If the date change was a change from a transit (<24hrs) to a stopover (>24hrs) that can be more complicated, as some countries can/do change real taxes (arrival - departure) that apply. The high $ UK APD is the most widely know, and most widely misunderstood.
I don't have the exact details because they just complained about QF without details. But as far as I know, they tried to change the date of some non-stop flights.
