In 59A, you have direct aisle access without climbing over anyone.
If you move to 58A, you will of course climb over your wife in 59B but you will be staring at 58B passenger during taxi, take off and landing since the divider has to be down. At all other times, the divider can be up and you have privacy.
Vice-versa for your wife in 59B who will be staring at 59A.
Yep and this is the key downside of the old 'ying yang' arrangement. If you want to sit next to someone, one or both of you will be stepping over someone else (or have someone else stepping over you). The seats at the start and end of each section of the cabin are best insofar as one person has direct aisle access.
