LAX>TPE>BKK leg completed. No issues with checked baggage, was checked all the way through to Bangkok.

I should probably mention, we arrived at the Tom Bradley terminal around 2030. The flight boarding was scheduled for 2340 (it was slightly delayed by 5 minutes). The EVA check in desk was jammed full with a line almost all the way out to the entrance of the terminal. I estimated it would have taken at least 2 hours to queue through that nightmare of a line. However, I had downloaded the app and had already applied for online check in. You have to apply (submit passport photos and fill out information) and receive prior approval at least 48 hours prior to departure to use the feature.

Thankfully an EVA employee approached us while we had just lined up and asked if we had already used the online check in. Once we acknowledged that we did, she guided us to the baggage check in line and we were the only two who were in that line. We went from a probable 2 hours wait, to checked in with tickets in hand in less than 5 minutes. Just an FYI for anyone traveling this route.
