I'm not a Dr, but IME, the title attaching to the name happened even back to the pre-merger UA days, the way they printed on BPs, and has always, IME, been a display item, not an issue with the way the backend actually interprets the information (middle names also squish together with the first, and display differently on various carriers). Have never collected with Asiana, but used to fly UA and credit to Aeroplan (AC), and I never had an issue with a name mismatch, which would indeed confirm the title squishing is display, nor with TSA.

Either what happened to you was an anomaly, or for some reason, the way Asiana's system picked up the name is causing the problem. Not sure how to handle with Asiana except to have your ID with your BP at the airport to get your benefits. Accrual may be an issue you need to deal with post-flight.
