Don't worry, if you have a tight connection, you'll be greeted by TK staff at the gate, especially if the incoming flight is delayed. They will be holding sign and/or shout JFK when you get out of the gate, and escort you to the connecting gate. If you don't see one shouting JFK, grab an agent and ask about your flight - or even better if there is someone by the gate using a computer.
Last time we had an hour connection and the incoming flight was late and ended up with a 15 minutes delay, and at least 3 agents were out shouting to gather pax to those places. We had to wait until everyone was out of the plane before the agent escorted us to the plane. Once we were there the agent handed us over to the gate agent.
