Exactly this. When landing the crew say we will leave you now in the hands of our ground crew. Please contact them if you need any further information or assistance. I think American are better than this at JFK and MIA. They have One World agents in purple tabards meeting flights with short connections, in some cases they escort them personally. Other times they give you a bright orange express connections boarding pass wallet to wave at the queue busters who will take you to the front of the queue. I had someone meet me on jet bridge at JFK with a 2h50 min connection and 100 min delay to inbound flight. Was taken to front of CBP line in T7. Then to bags, lady with me updating someone all the time, taken to the front of customs, taken to express connections area to drop luggage off for connecting flight and taken to AirTrain station. Put on airtrain, someone waiting at T8 airtrain door who took me to front of security and to a waiting buggy and to gate 43 for my onward flight to Cancun, last person to board 15 mins prior to departure. FA offered strong pre departure beverage then captain said aircraft had hit a bird on the way in and wanted engine checked. We ended up deplaning, going to lounge and having an aircraft swap and ended up being 3 hours late. Interestingly bags didn’t make it but were on 7am flight the following day and in my hotel room at 10.30 when I returned from breakfast so would have been put in a taxi within 20 mins of landing.

Bottom line is ask for help from ground crew.
