[QUOTE=tinkybelle] From past dealings with Qantas I would say they would not be responsible nor would they honor an expired ticket as Qantas did not issue the connecting ticket.[QUOTE]It isn't just QF, all airlines are very diligent about checking ticket expiration date as the clearinghouse won't honour expired tickets! This means the airline that issued the ticket gets to keep the money and the flying airline gets to fly you for free! You can see why agents are instructed to double check the expiration date, and get in lots of trouble if an expired coupon is used. I did use a ticket on the last day of validity last year, and the agent made a point of mentioning it. We even had a discussion about whether the expiration date was at the timezone where the ticket was issued or at the flight being flown (no conlusion reached except the agent uses the flight timezone, and I suppose that is what counts). I made sure not to have a same-day connection for that particular flight.
